The fundamental spirit of Buddhism is that all people are equal. A person is not great simply because of his or her social standing, fame, acedmic background or postion in organizations. In the world of faith , the truly great are those who speard the Mystic law and strive for Kosen rufu, who activetly work for the sake of the happiness of others. Supremely respectworthy are those who champion the cause of Kosen- rufu.
Our dear beloved sister and allie
a heavy heart 💔 I learned this week that my sister - Ondina Fley - died age 60 in Honduras from a second stroke. She had been very ill for several months.
I will remember her for her kindness and her smile. Despite her circumstances - living in poverty and bringing up 4 children as a single mother, she remained authentic, and really captured the essence of the spirit. She was a fighter and a strong supporter of her local community, often fighting for the poor and oppressed.
She was born out of wedlock and was never acknowledged by most of her family, whom really abodoned her. She and her children lived in a wooden shack with a leaking roof, rarely left her village and had no education. She earned her meagre income from doing small jobs for other villagers.
She leaves behind four beautiful children, five grandchildren.
Funding for her children education:
This fundraiser aims to pay for the costs of her funeral, and to pay for an education for her grandchildren so that they may experince opportunity and not exprience the trangeneral truama which is often passed on from generation to generational.
Thank you all for your consideration and support.
William
