Lubasi and Lushomo are struggling to care for their 50 children during the COVID-19 pandemic. The money raised will help them to do so.

All of the extra money will continue to help provide for these children.

In the winter of 2019 I went to Zambia to volunteer for the Lubasi Home and the Lushomo Trust. These are two Catholic organisations that care for around 50 children. Lubasi cares mainly for children who have been orphaned by the AIDs pandemic, which affects 1 in 5 adults in Livingstone, the capital of Zambia. The Lushomo trust is solely dedicated to caring for 11 girls, aged 3 to 18, who faced sexual abuse in their homes.

Last year, my friends are family were extremely generous and we managed to raise just under £1500. If you are interested in how your donation was spent last time then please message me and I will be happy to send photos. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in visitors postponing their trips and fundraising events being cancelled. Lubasi and Lushomo are completely independent and are unable to receive funds from international charities. The pandemic has left them in a very tricky financial situation.

The cost of running Lubasi Home is only K7000 (around £440) a month. Any donation, however, small or large, really does make a difference to these children and is hugely appreciated. Thank you.
