Fundraising for a volunteer trip to The Gambia

Isabel & Amelia are part of the Explorer/Scouts team that are visiting The Gambia in February 2026 to volunteer at a charity called The Gunjar Project.  Myself and James will also be going in the capacity of leader and adult helper.

We need to fundraise £1000 each to volunteer with the charity, therefore anything you can contribute towards our target will be massively appreciated.

We will be running various events as well throughout the year to raise the necessary funds too.

When we get there, we will be involved in helping with a project (yet to be confirmed) but on the Explorer and Scouts previous trip in 2023 they helped to provide laptops to create an internet learning centre and mobile phones to access the internet. They helped to supply paint brushes and paint, and decorated a local school and supplied books and pens for them. They also supplied uniform to the local scout groups and provided medicines for the health clinic.

As you can see, the monies raised to towards helping a variety of good causes and helping to improve the lives of many.
