To be able to get driving lessons, c1 training, a car, insurance and certain travel costs for paramedic degree.

by Cameron Lee O'Neill-Kendall in Leicester, United Kingdom

I am a careleaver living in Leicester. In my spare time I enjoy science, languages and spending time with animals.

Since a young age I've dreamed to be a paramedic. Now I am at the stage where I'll be studying a degree in paramedicine.

Many costs come into studying paramedicine.

One notable one being driving.

Placements can be far away from university campus as its based on mentor availability.  For instance, if I'm based with WMAS, I could be on placement in Birmingham, Coventry, Stafford, etc. So universities recommend having a car.

I don't have close family or anyone to support me with any finances. I have fought on solely. I get a small grant (£2000) for tuition costs, but not for anything else.

I would like to start driving, however I just can't afford any lessons. Moreover, I could not afford a car to get to placements after driving lessons.

So I am asking for support towards driving lessons and a car.

It would support me greatly with my studies and placement.

In addition to this, I care for my mother, which me and my siblings take turns based on availability.  So a car would be useful to travel to Leicester on my days off.

Thank you for reading this and if more information is needed then do not hesitate to contact me.
