We embed fairness, kindness and inclusion in our practice. We believe that the arts are for everyone. Our workshops and projects create spaces where participants can fully be themselves, grow in confidence and make new friends.
Our approach to the creative arts is collaborative, curious and playful. We create spaces where participants take agency and ownership in the performances they make and share. In our workshops, we are responsive to what the group wants to do. We are not a one size fits all organisation, we tailor make projects and workshops to suit the participants and groups.
By helping with this crowdfunder, you are ensuring that we can continue to make activities affordable and accessible to everyone in the community.
At the Root Arts was born from a belief that creativity should be at the heart of every community. We’ve seen firsthand how the arts can transform lives—building confidence, sparking joy, and connecting people across generations and backgrounds.
Based in West Lothian, we’ve been working with local artists, schools, families, and community groups to deliver engaging, inclusive arts activities. From workshops and performances to pop-up events and collaborative murals, we believe everyone should have access to the tools and space to express themselves.
But we need your help to grow.
Our Vision
We want to expand our reach across West Lothian—taking arts activities to places where opportunities are limited, where isolation is high, and where creative outlets can make a real difference.
With your support, we’ll:
Run free and low-cost workshops in drawing, storytelling, dance, music, and more
Partner with local schools and youth groups to nurture young talent
Offer creative sessions for older adults and those facing loneliness
Create shared spaces where communities come together through art
This crowdfunder will help us cover materials, staff fees, travel, and venue costs—so we can focus on delivering imaginative, empowering experiences for all.
Join us in putting creativity at the root of our communities.
