FRIENDS OF STREET CHILDREN BANGLADESH

RCN 1171061,

Friends of Street Children Bangladesh supports work with street children. Our main partner is LEEDO, based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. We raise funds to support their work, for example fundraising meals. LEEDO undertake outreach and education on the streets and run a Peace Home for children with no other options.

Friends of Street Children Bangladesh is a small UK charity raising funds to support the work of LEEDO with children who have been surviving on the streets of Dhaka.

Funds donated to our charity help to provide outreach to children who are homeless and at risk from dangerous work such as picking up rubbish and sexual exploitation. LEEDO provides street schools for children, temporary shelters and a long-term home for children with no other alternatives, including many with disabilities.

Two of our trustees have written and illustrated a book for children that will soon be published. It is about children who have survived on the streets of Dhaka. It was written with the children of LEEDO. The author and illustrator are not taking royalties from the sale of the book and the publisher is not making a profit. All proceeds from selling the book, after production costs, will be donated to Friends of Street Children Bangladesh to support work with children in Dhaka.

Our first crowd funding project is an opportunity for you to order and pay for your signed copy of the book before it is printed. This will help us cover the production costs. We hope that you will support this project so that we can all make a real difference to the way in which children on the streets are understood and help to provide some of the children with a better future.
