Friendship House is a tech-free space where people reconnect through real-life conversations, lego and board games, and Children & Mums Club

by Pauline J in Dudley, West Midlands, United Kingdom

In a world dominated by screens, Friendship House® project was created as a tech-free zone where real-life connections thrive. Here, conversations are uninterrupted, friendships are built face-to-face, and community flourishes.

We envisioned a welcoming space where people disconnect from technology to reconnect with each other. Whether through shared meals, board games, storytelling, or simply talking, Friendship House® brings people together.

As part of our project, we are developing a Lego and Board Game Club, where people can bond over classic and modern tabletop games, a Children & Mums Club, offering a safe, interactive space for families to connect, and Children’s Art Workshops, encouraging creativity and self-expression. We also organize group walks and outdoor play, making use of playgrounds that often stand empty—bringing life and laughter back into these spaces.

Our simple rule: No screens. Just people. This allows for meaningful conversations, genuine friendships, and a sense of belonging.

Friendship House® is more than a place—it’s a movement. Step inside, leave distractions behind, and rediscover the joy of being present.
