Friends of Woodlands is a dedicated charity supporting Woodlands Special School in Plymouth. Our team of passionate staff and family members works to raise funds and organise events that enhance the educational experience and well-being of the school’s students.
Woodlands Special School serves 88 children aged 2 to 19 with complex physical, sensory, medical, and learning challenges. As a key resource for the South West peninsula, the school welcomes pupils from Plymouth, Devon, and Cornwall. We emphasise high expectations, an enabling curriculum, and independence, ensuring our students gain essential life skills alongside academic qualifications.
Friends of Woodlands aims to create a supportive community where every student can thrive. Our activities enrich the school environment by funding specialised equipment, extracurricular activities, and school trips, providing resources and opportunities that might otherwise be unavailable.
More than a charity, Friends of Woodlands is a community of individuals who believe in the potential of every child at Woodlands Special School. By supporting us, you contribute to a cause that makes a tangible difference in the lives of some of the most inspiring young people in our region.
