Aim: We are a registered volunteer community group who are trying to help improve Stechford Hall Park for the community and wildlife.
We currently have planted an orchard of fruit trees to bring some beauty to the park, they will provide fruit for the wildlife and community. The decomposing fruit will help improve the soil (the park was a landfill site). We do regular litter picks with the help of park neighbours, dog walkers and the local Brownie groups. We have had broken glass removed from the park by contacting Birmingham city council. We are registered with several groups such as Birmingham open reach forum, Groundwork etc who help us with advice to improve the park, we have worked with Birmingham tree people, fruit and nut village to do planting. We are a group who rely on the goodwill of the community, we need to fundraise to get the essential equipment needed to continue to improve the park and to save for bigger projects such as improving the outdated, in disrepair children's play area.
