Our aim is to uncover the crucial role played by the Dome and RAF Langham in Britain's defence throughout and beyond World War II.
- Constructed during 1942/43, this fascinating Dome employed cutting-edge technology for training anti-aircraft gunners.
- Decades before the advent of digital virtual reality, trainees learned to shoot down enemy aircraft through moving images projected inside the Dome.
- Now, nearly 80 years post-World War II, visiting the Dome provides a rare chance to travel back in time and immerse oneself in the experiences of those who served at RAF Langham.
- Engage in an interactive simulation to shoot down enemy planes onscreen. Enjoy a picnic beneath our Spitfire in the Memorial Gardens.
- The Langham Dome, designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument, stands as one of only six remaining domes in the UK. In 2013, the North Norfolk Historic Buildings Trust, custodian of the Langham Dome, received a grant of £446,400 from the Heritage Lottery Fund and £199,000 from English Heritage, along with other substantial grants, enabling it to open as the hugely popular visitor attraction it is today. Your help is needed to enable the Dome to remain standing for future generations to enjoy.
