We're still collecting donations

Our ride-on grass cutter will soon need replacing and this is a vital piece of maintenance equipment our volunteers use.

We are a local group set up to maintain the Old Canal Towpath after it was purchased jointly by Elm and Emneth Parish Councils. It has become a little gem on the borders of our villages and is cherished by all that use it. A long history , the original canal was landfilled and for a time the land was maintained by the county council. After a tie ownership shifted to the parish councils and to help maintain the area 'Friends of Elm & Emneth Towpath' was set up. This is truely a beautiful place to take a walk with your family, with your dog or just to walk out on a nice day.
The team of volunteers have worked hard and with the support of the councils the towpath stays accessible. To do this the volunteers have a small range of equipment , but the main worker is our little red ride on mower! It keeps all our grassed areas cut and neat and its now 'getting on a bit!' We hope to replace our mower and purchase better equipment to help keep the brambles back! We also have a lot of willow that we want to learn to copice and then sell on to local basket crafters. All of this needs funding and we hope the support from our friends far and wide can support us. Thank you
