Hi! We are a team of students currently in film school in London trying to fund our own personal passion project. The team consists currently of a director, DOP, Production Designer, and Producer. As time goes on we will be bringing more student filmmakers onto the project to help out and make sure we are creating the best film we can! Our goal is to tell this story to the best of our abilities and really work on improving our skills and becoming better filmmakers.
FRENCH REGIME is a passion project of ours, something that we have decided to make outside of our school work. Inspirations for this film came from people in our lives who lived in situations like this: toxic kitchens and an addiction to the stressful and fast-paced nature of being a chef. We wanted to tell this story and pull stylistically from the tropes of French New Wave Cinema -- as well as shows like The Bear.
To really tell this story we have brought on professional chefs who have worked in luxury restaurant kitchens to facilitate and fact-check what we are doing. We aim to make this a realistic look into the life of a chef in a toxic environment.
MEET SOME OF THE CREW:
LUKA ANTAR (DIRECTOR): Hello, my name is Luka Antar and I will be directing FRENCH REGIME. I am incredibly excited about turning the amazingly tense screenplay into an actual film together with some of the most talented people I have come across at film school - and you should be too!
DAHLIA HELLERSTEIN (DOP): Hi! My name is Dahlia Hellerstein and I will be taking on the role of DOP for French Regime. I am really excited to get going on this project, and get the opportunity to work with some really talented friends of mine on a film that we are all incredibly passionate about. I have always loved cinematography and have been getting to work on smaller projects as a DOP for the last year or so and I am really grateful for the opportunity to work on a project like this -- which we know will be a hit!
OUR MISSION:
Working with other students and getting films out there is the most important thing you can do while at film school. We want this to be a learning experience for everyone involved, while still producing something that we can all be proud of! We are going to work tirelessly as a team to make the best film possible to present to festivals and friends.
