Aim: We're raising money for Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), as well as discussing actions we can take to support the Palestinian people
The Israeli state have spent decades facilitating illegal settlements and occupation in Palestine. They are now escalating the oppression against the people of Palestine with the financial support and weapons of Britain, America and Europe.
While governments across the world are calling to support Israel, they are silencing the context which is the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land.
The community in Bristol are coming together to raise awareness, money and support for people in Palestine with no access to food or medical aid, and to discuss what next steps they can take towards freedom for Palestine.
We will raise money for Medical Aid for Palestinians by holding an event taking donations on the door and selling Palestinian food whilst hosting Palestinian speakers, activists and artists to raise awareness of the situation and what people can do to help.
Speakers will talk about the history of Palestine since the Naqba, when Israel was created, and what we can do to support the Palestinians in their struggle for freedom.
Initial funds raised will be used to:
- pay for travel for speakers and artists
- print flyers to publicise the event
All remaining funds will be donated to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).
UPDATE 19/10/23: The costs for travel, printing flyers and the mural have now been covered by external donors, so all money raised with be sent to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).
