To raise money for local children to attend a summer scheme providing much needed food and activities
by KPCC Oval in London, England, United Kingdom
Kennington Park Community Centre is excited and pleased to be part of the Summer of Food and Fun being organised by Kitchen Social and supported by the Mayor’s Fund for London, Lambeth and Southwark Councils to keep our kids fed and active during the school summer holidays.
After a lengthy closure we will be opening on Monday 27 July and then every Monday and Tuesday from 10am to 4pm until 25 August to provide a free hot dinner, healthy snacks and oodles of fun for local children aged 4 to 14.
Shannon and her Simply Smiley Productions team have put on activities at KPCC Oval for the past couple of summers and everybody who’s come has not just enjoyed themselves but learnt lots. Workshops will include arts and craft, dance, singing, drama games, hula hooping, planting, yoga and capoeira.
Everything we do will be risk assessed and Covid secure. The activities available will depend on government guidance at the time. PPE will be provided and physical distancing will apply.
We have grant funding to cover meals and some activities. But it would be great to have more to spend on equipment and to put on a full day of activities with specialist teachers.
So please give what you can – and encourage your friends and colleagues to donate as well. If you want to discuss how to donate directly please contact us on [email protected].
