NICE transforms the lives of local families faced with incurable physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy in children and multiple sclerosis in adults. Our charity is by the side of disabled children and adults whilst they make the first steps in overcoming physical and emotional challenges, as a result of lifelong conditions - often at a time when they have nowhere else to turn.
We offer free services for children from birth to four years, when a parent sadly discovers their child is not developing as they should be – a devastating and often terrifying time for parents. For our adults, we offer free services at the vital point of diagnosis, when their lives have been turned upside down from degenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s.
These free services are literally a lifeline to local families and give such hope to the people we help. We show individuals that they can and will achieve things thought impossible, through the positive impact of conductive education, with its can do and holistic philosophy.
Since the pandemic and the current cost-of-living crisis, our families have never needed NICE more. This has been highlighted by the demand for our services with over 200 families turning to us since January.
This financial year has however brought significant funding challenges with voluntary income significantly affected. By the end of July, we still need to raise £80,000 to fund our free services for local families and we are urgently appealing for your help by giving any donation you can.
