We did it
On 30th September 2024 we successfully raised £200 with 6 supporters in 185 days

To provide free bike access for as many Fringe participants as possible. Last year I was able to get 50 people free access to a bike.

My name is Dion Owen. I am a professional stand up comedian and a cycling advocate. I've spent the last decade connecting people with bikes.

With the support of The Bike Station last year, I was able to get 50 people FREE bike access with ZERO funding. The vast majority of the work and labor I did myself. Helping people is a legacy bestowed in me, by my late father.

Some quotes from last year's participants:

"I lost money, the festival was awful. But the free bike was great, probably the highlight." (anonymous)

"The bike was a life saver. I was staying in Leith and often was out till 3am, so buses were infrequent. Every night I rode home I was grateful and thought of you." (Rachel Morton-Young)

We're working on growing the program. Currently we have financial support from the Fringe and The Counting House @ The Pear Tree, but it is limited.

If you want to donate funds to the program, it's greatly appreciated. It will go to supporting The Bike Station, hiring extra mechanics, and to cover some of my Fringe costs.

If Capitalism's got you down, HOLD onto your money - The program is FREE for a reason. I know this festival is expensive, especially for ARTISTS. But if you're rich or just really keen, the support is much appreciated.
