On the 9th December 2021 we'd raised £1,020 with 15 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
While preschool education is also not equitably distributed around the globe, children will suffer the most from poverty and poor quality education. In Ghana, many children do not have access to preschool education, much less high-quality education that will set a strong foundation for their future success.
By empowering teachers through training, support, and working with the community, we can help give quality education to every child.
Over the last few months, with the support of our wonderful teachers in Ghana, we have been creating a selection of 10 Christmas cards. Each Christmas card has been designed by a Ghanaian child, with the question "What do you do for Christmas?". Using this as their inspiration, the children drew what Christmas meant to them and created wonderful drawings, these drawings have been made into Christmas cards so that we can share them with you as a thank you for your generous donation.
There are a total of 10 designs using different Ghanaian language versions, the cards have been designed with the theme of 'Christmas in Ghana', each one featuring a picture of the child who drew the card, where they live and how old they are - making connections across the world for everyone at Christmas.
With the children drawing their interpretation of Christmas we decided to add an extra Ghanaian touch with a West African Adinkra symbol, symbolizing "Odo Nnyew Fie Kwan", meaning"love never loses its way home".
With the help of your donations, Foundation First’s experienced team of education professionals will be able to provide training workshops for over 100 teachers. The average teacher in Ghana has 36 students who will benefit from our work all year long. For £10,000, we can significantly improve 3,600 children’s educational outcomes and life chances in the first year alone!
Help us expand our reach and impact more lives, by giving the gift of education to children this year and helping build the foundations of their futures.
