Keep Forgan fighting fit – Forgan Christmas Craft Sale

Here at Forgan Arts Centre we have been serving our community for over 40 years.  Our friendly atmosphere, first-class tutors and strong community bonds combine to make a valued local venue with a fantastic programme of classes.

From pottery to upholstery, stained glass to skateboard art , life drawing to charcoal and oil painting, kids art club, workshops, open days and art fayres, we aim to provide experiences to suit all abilities, interests and ages ( we literally can say we have users from 5 to 105!).

Our members tell us that they enjoy learning new skills and value meeting new people, making and building friendships in an artistic setting. Having a creative outlet is important for our health and wellbeing and this will be even more important as we move out of the current crisis.

Why do we need help  ?

Unfortunately this year we have had to close our doors to our community to keep them safe and as a result we have had no income. Our committee have continued to work hard throughout the year, planning for our future and applying for funding to help us move to a new venue in the future. We have had to use our reserves to keep up with the overheads of the arts centre and these are now running low.  

Already many of you have generously given all, or part, of your fees for un-run classes as donations which has been fantastic.  

We are now asking for your help in building a fund to keep us fighting fit: to keep us going until we can reopen the centre and invite our community back .

This appeal is a seasonal fundraising campaign to raise the flag on a bigger campaign for 2021 

Cash raised from Christmas decorations and sales (or donations!) will be used to keep Forgan afloat during this extended period of closure and prepare for the grand re-opening (whenever that may be!).  You will be DIRECTLY supporting your small, local independent arts centre.

We need you now more than ever...

Help keep us fighting fit for our bigger and better future

Taking part in this crowdfunder will help us :-

• Keep up with the required maintenance of the Victorian school building 
• Provide us with income to cover possible lack of demand as classes reopen 
• Adapt our operation now to make sure we can offer activities online 
• Demonstrate to the Scottish Land Fund and other major funders that we have the support of our local Community 

Any support we receive really does mean the world to us and our campaign to survive this crisis and emerge offering a larger and better programme.
