Who are we?
We are MK Elevens. An open player eleven aside football experience for all ages (18-65) and skill levels, offering a large game format but without the high risk of injury and aggression experienced in regular grass routes leagues and the commitment of being in a team.
We offer an eleven aside game bi-weekly for players to drop in and out whenever is convenient for them and their families, and we have adjusted our playing rules to reduce risk of injury such as 'No sliding tackles' and have a zero tolerance policy to aggressive behaviour and bad conduct. In addition we focus on the experience and not how fit someone needs to be to play by also having roll on / roll off subs every ten minutes during gameplay.
As a result - players that want to play the full game experience, now have an option in Milton Keynes that suits their availability, provides a lower risk level for injury and gives them an outlet for improving their fitness and supports their mental health by building new friendships and play sports.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We have established the club and games have begun, however to create a true football eleven aside experience, the one thing that is missing are football kits.
Not only will football kits complete the delivery of these games but it will also help us grow the club as players share their experience and bring more players to the format and help us build a community for players to engage in safe football, promote more health (mental equally) amongst men of all ages and build a community.
How we’ll spend the money raised
Money raised will be spent on two football kits and any remaining on footballs and other equipment.
Community impact
The community impact is more options for men of all ages in Milton Keynes to get out and play football, improve health and fitness, and mental health and wellbeing in a safe but competitive football environnement.
As games are played, we also see players bring friends and family to watch them - which also promotes connections to other families within the club and build a sense of community and support within the groups of players.
The club has established some fantastic roots for being just a few months old but the feedback from players and the idea of the format as been well received and requests to join the club are increasing week on week with the club already close to 60 members.
