Aim: After volunteering for 5 years at Southend Foodbank, Nigel will give even the hair on his face to help! Donate and he'll shave it all off!
We're asking you to donate money to this crowdfunder for Southend Foodbank and to show some support to the volunteers who give everything they can, food, sweat and beards, to help.
Southend Foodbank has been open for nearly 10 years and in that time has supported thousands of people locally. More people than ever before have needed to use a foodbank this year. With the cost of living increasing and food in particular is getting much more expensive, there is a widening gap between the amount foodbank volunteers need to pack into parcels and the amount on the shelves in the foodbank. Volunteers know how important it is to raise funds to buy food to keep the foodbank open, alongside the time, hardwork and dedication they give every week.
One of the longest serving foodbank warehouse volunteers, Nigel, has stepped forward and said: what else can I give to help? And now he has agreed to let us finally shave off his big beard - and all his hair! - to help raise money for food for the foodbank.
Update! The beard has gone!
Nigel took the plunge and took it all off - he's almost unrecognisable now!
