To ensure that no one in Grimsby and surrounding area is without food due to lack of finance.

We Are ONE works to provide support for people facing food poverty including the homeless, those in hostels, the elderly and families in financial distress. Feeding those in need for free and on a voluntary basis, we will support anyone who asks, without prejudice in respect of circumstances, gender, race, religion or age.

In times before Covid -19 we operated on two levels.

The first was our food kitchen, where we would offer vulnerable adults a place to sit and enjoy a hot meal with friends, once a week. This has needed to stop because of the pandemic, but has been replaced with a walk through service where they can still receive a hot meal, drink, and food bag. As many outlets where individuals could get food leftovers have been closed, we have increased the frequency to twice a week to meet demand. Approximately 140 adults access this.

The second was our family food larder. This was accessed by families and the elderly, but because of the pandemic, it has been necessary to open this service up to our wider community. We have a larder in Grimsby, and recently opened a second food larder in Cleethorpes, as there were no local provisions. Both larders run twice a week.

As many people were shielded or medically vulnerable to Covid -19 and did not always have access to funds for food, we began to provide deliveries to anyone in this category. At it's peak, we were delivering 40 food parcels 3x per week.

As well as these services, we were also continuing to provide Outreach to the homeless, which included food, provisions, and emotional support.

We are asking for your help, to continue to provide support to the most vulnerable within our community. In addition to the free food generously donated by local organisations, we need £400 per day to continue to run.

Whilst we do get some charitable funding, the pressure of the national demand means all funding charities have to make their money go a lot further.

If we are not able to continue providing our services, hundreds of people will go without enough food.

Please support us, however possible for you. Whether this is through donation, sharing our story, or helping our fundraising effort. We appreciate any contribution you are able to make, in order to protect the most vulnerable people in our community.
