Hello,
My name is Erms Pereira, and I've created this crowdfunded project to contribute to the action of helping poor Northeastern Brazilians in Recife, organized by the religious charity institution Casa Espírita da Caridade. The institution is receiving an increasing call for help on basic foods and essential goods from the local community of Três Carneiros Baixo district of Recife city, capital of Pernambuco state, Brazil. This community has a Human Development Index of 0.732, equivalent to Jamaica in 2020 and below Brazil (0.765).
The Casa Espírita da Caridade is calling for a financial donation to give a food package for 50 families. This number is increasing, because in March it was 40 families, and 10 more families showed up in the last donation event (24/04/21).
Each food package costs R$20,00, £2.66 in exchange quotation of 03/05/21. So for this campaign, we need to raise 50 x £2.66 = £133, but each pound counts for them. The food packages are given on the last Saturday of each month.
Since I moved to Bradford to work as a research fellow at the University of Leeds, I'm donating for this campaign, but it is not enough due to the growing demand.
