Visited Hastings a few weeks ago and I was so pleased to see how the area round the pier seems to have improved, with so many new shops and businesses (it seems like that to me, I hadn't visited since 2017). So sad to hear what has happened to Eastbourne pier. Good luck and I will follow your progress.

I cannot leave this the way it is. We must all stick together. Remember we are from Hastings or have adopted it as our home. We create great stuff in Hastings

Very valuable and necessary community asset. Must not be given away for a rich man's profit.

That moment when your nine year old daughter wakes you up to give you a Father's Day card and wants to buy you an ice cream on your pier, you and Mummy explain the situation to her and she says, "...then, I won't go on the pier again until you and your friends own it again!" Yeah, that one...

Even though I have no connection with Hastings I think community projects like this are so important to all members of society. Good luck with your campaign.

Britain's public piers are wonderful, let's keep them public.

Bad News this morning! I don't think there was ever any intention of listening to the people. Congratulations to all of us for trying. Perhaps the new owner will listen if it is to be a success. Delilah will still be there while dog walking is allowed.

Despite the announcement - here's some more!

The idea that Delilah the Miniature Schnauzer & I won't be able to walk on the pier in the future is totally unthinkable. The dog has insisted that I put in some more for the final push. Administrators don't ignore the voice of the people (or Delilah !).

I love to see that great girl name Francesca work every day on the pier and his boss Peter. She is the best for the maintenance of the pier and a sweet girl.
