Fluffy's is a community focused Donuts, Coffees and Music Shop Café. Serving freshly ground Clumsy Goat Coffee and delicious Planet Doughnuts whilst selling new and used music, films, video games and books.

A little bit about me first... I am 35 year old, currently a unemployed stay-at-home Dad. In 2018 after my second case of Myocarditis, I was encouraged to reconsider my life's choices and my career at that time to focus on my health. This meant I sadly had to leave my employment as a factory worker of 8 years. The nickname "Fluffy" comes from my employment, when the first time I stripped off for a shower after a shift, a colleague walked past me and noticed I was rather hairy! "Oh, you're Fluffy aren't you?!" he said. The name then stuck!

Sadly, coming out of work flipped my life completely as this meant my wife at the time had to return to work after having some years off looking after our poorly babies. She then became the provider for our family. Coming out of work caused a ripple of problems for me personally, primarily a downfall in my mental health which deteriorated soon after. Since then, I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and can on some occasions struggle with aches and pains all over my body. This makes finding a job difficult as some days, I can barely move. This is why self employment where I can pick and choose my hours to suit, may be more beneficial.

However since coming out of work, came Crags Radio. An idea of mine to create a brand new online non-profit community radio station for an area that had no other community station that focused on North Notts. Now almost 5 years later, the station continues to thrive serving it's community through Informative, Educational and Entertainment based programmes as well as becoming the leading source of media training and skill building in the area.

This idea of a café has been nesting in my head for quiet sometime now and there's no time like the present to make it a reality. The plan is to create a community hub that serves mouth watering donuts and thirst quenching coffees whilst selling CD's, LP,s DVD's, Books and Video Games! Not only are we aiming to be a café & shop, but we're planning to home the community with craft and hobby clubs, open mics and more. I also want to tackle the challenges that our community face too - including social isolation, mental health and anti-social behaviour. Seriously tapping into the local area and it's residents, providing them a home away from home that everyone can benefit from.

Currently Crags Radio occupies a 3-story building. Our ground floor space is setup for meetings and training, however it is being massively underutilized by us and the community. My plan is to rent the whole of the ground floor and to turn it into my own profitable business. This then helps the radio station by cutting down their running costs by half annually and then utilises the space too, bringing in customers who can listen to Crags Radio but also help me make a living.

Sadly the only major downfall to this project is my serious lack of funds personally. I have already heavily invested a large amount of money in setting up the business and on applications/paperwork. So I am hoping this is where you come in! I have some funds to be able to throw at this project but not near enough to make it a success and ensure it looks the part. This crowdfunder will hopefully generate enough money to get me setup and ready to launch in the fall of 2024. The funds will help cover renovation costs, furniture and equipment to help me turn what is a currently a meeting/training space into a warm inviting café/shop.
