About Citizens Advice York

We can all face problems that seem complicated or intimidating. At Citizens Advice York, we believe no one should have to face these problems without good quality, independent advice.

Across York we are seeing increased demand for our services - 100% more people in our community coming to us for help year on year - and we’re not able to support everyone that needs us. People are also coming to us needing help with more complex issues, last year the time we were spending with each person increased by 30%. Each interaction is taking longer and this is stretching our capacity even further.

Impact in numbers

● In 23/24 we helped 7,302 people in our community with 16,941 issues

● Our support resulted in £1,962,450 income maximisation for people that we have helped

● We were able to write off a total of £1,706,020 unmanageable debt for the people we helped

How your donation will help

With your help we can support the people that need us most. Any donations we receive will go towards our area of greatest need - helping more local people. The support we offer will empower people in our community with the knowledge and tools so that they can solve their own problems in the future.

● £30,000 will help us provide additional advice over 3 days every week to support more people in our community

● £20,000 will help us provide additional advice over 2 days every week to support more people in our community

● £10,000 will help us provide additional advice over 1 day each week to support more people in our community
