Aim: In a world filled with solo shows, zeitgeist titles and topical theatre, alternative, character comedy is dying. We want to bring it back!

The wrestling ring's most beloved misfits are back to settle scores the only way they know how: with maximum chaos and hands-free violence.

FistyMania!, from the award-winning creators of comedy podcast Wrestling With the Champ, is a fast-paced blend of wrestling mayhem and quick-witted improv where the only things that get bruised are the contestants' egos. Each show features a special guest comedian squaring off against the Ginger Ninja in a series of freeform challenges in an attempt to win the coveted Pub Wrestling Federation title.

Our show is a classic throwback to the 80s and 90s where alternative, character comedy led the way. We're fun, we're loud, we're everything a comedy gameshow should be... But sadly we're swimming against the tide of where mainstream comedy is going, and without the support of promoters or high-profile venues, everything becomes harder. Plus, performing at the festival is not free. Rising food, marketing and accommodation costs make promoting and surviving at the Fringe a tricky task.

Judging by sold out shows at the Leicester Comedy Festival and Rik Mayall Comedy Festival in 2025, we feel we have an excellent idea on our hands that people stand in line to see, but getting attention at the Fringe is a tough ask. The dream is to be able to grow our show with extra performances on a more regular basis around the UK.

That's why we want to use funds to reach more people in Edinburgh, and to help save our financial resources that will support a UK pub tour in 2026.
