Our short student documentary follows the story of Fire Cat when he was rescued from a bonfire in 2020, since then he has led an inspiring journey of rehabilitation and inspiration with such a powerful story. Much like a feline phoenix rising from the flames.
Directing and purr-ducing this documentary is William Stogden. What are some fun facts about Mr Stogden? In 2019 he started his own production company called Stogden Studios, producing a mockumentary news series called 'News with Liam Gee', since then he has used this space as an online portfolio of work of which he has won a best young filmmaker award in the New Jersey International Festival for his film 'Angeline' and featured in a wide variety of other international and local festivals.
The brains behind the camera for this documentary is Sasha Morris, the director of photography. What are some fun facts about Miss Morris? Her work has also been recognised in a variety of film festivals with her cinematography on the short film 'Angeline' which won best college short at the New Jersey International Festival. She has also worked on other films such as the short film '10 Count'. Her most recent work involves an exhibition at Waterside with a feminist filmmaking documentary exhibit.
Why Do We Need Funding? Filming ain't cheap! The funds we raise will fulfil filming and travel costs including some funds set aside for festival submissions.
The rest of the funds we raise will be donated to the Feline and Wildlife Rescue in Nottingham, a rescue run by volunteers who give their free time to fostering and saving cats and wildlife. The money you donate would help give these cats a second chance at life.
