Aim: To give disadvantaged teens who have been affected by the cost-of-living crisis the tools to a financially and emotionally secure future.

T.D Seminary assists in the educational and emotional development of financially and socially disadvantaged young people.

Being that our users already come from families struggling to make ends meet, with the rising cost of living it is subsequently these families who are hardest hit. Being that many of our users are already in a fragile emotional state, the added stress and anxiety of financial troubles have caused a sharp decline in their emotional wellbeing as well.

As a response, T.D Seminary is excited to be introducing this new project ‘Survive and Thrive’ which is a result of our extensive consultation into the current needs of our target group within the local community. This project directly supports the funding criteria of the Aviva Community Fund as our focus we will be on immediately improving the financial wellbeing of the participants, by providing financial and emotional practical tools which will empower them to break their cycle of poverty and improve their future.

Our organisation maintains a track record in project delivery and includes many active local volunteers who are trusted and appreciated by the participants of our programme. Moreover; our charity works closely in partnership with local youth services; sharing skills and resources to maximise opportunities for the young people.

We strongly feel that crowdfunding would be an excellent opportunity for us to secure the funds we need for this project. During these difficult times, the emotional and financial challenges experienced by our target group can be easily identified with by members of the public and we are confident that we will reach our goal.

‘Survive and Thrive’ will target 50 disadvantaged young people between the ages of 16-19 who will be divided into two groups (25 young people per group) and will be held biweekly as two-hour sessions over 30 weeks. We would use the funds raised to pay towards the salaries of the financial advisors who will be delivering this  project, our support worker and  for the rent of the premises where the sessions will be held.
