Femtinos Learning Hub!

Aim: Raising funds for a LAB INSTALLATION at our new learning hub for science workshops, public speaking classes, art courses and more!
Our Vision
It's been 15 years and our Femtinos Science workshops have proven to be popular for families all across Birmingham and beyond, with 14,000 children and adult participants!
We feel it's time to have a dedicated space.
A space where we have our very own mini science lab for Femtinos Lab Days
A space with an awesome stage for our Little Speakers clubs
A space for creative artwork
This will be the first of its kind! And we're very excited to create these learning hubs all across the UK. BUT first let's start with one that's a little more local!
Location
The hub will be within a 5mile radius of Birmingham City Centre, the perfect location for those travelling from out of city, yet great for locals too!
The Project
The installation of the lab, including the prep room and all health and safety checks will cost around £55k.
The plan is to have the work done and the hub ready in time for a launch party to coincide with the 15th anniversary celebration of Femtinos on the 10th August 2025.
Who is the Learning Hub for?
The Femtinos Learning Hub will serve as a place for learning for everyone! There will mainly be workshops for children aged 4-16 years old but there will also be family activities and adult-only sessions.
The hub will be open during the day for Home Educating families, and weekends and evenings for school children, enabling all children to access the centre. We aim to offer scholarships with your support to families who would not otherwise be able to afford our classes.
What do you receive for your contribution?
Money raised from this crowdfunding campaign will go into the science lab.
In exchange, we can:
- offer your child/children a number of sessions at the hub
- Or offer scholarships to a child/children for the same (scholarships will be offered to those facing financial hardship)
You and you're family will also be invited to the launch party!
Key Points
Our sessions usually cost between £25 - £40ph depending on the size of the group. However, this campaign, allows you to lock in sessions at a bargain, whilst also supporting us with getting the lab!
The hours can be used on Science sessions, art classes or even Little Speakers Club. Sessions are suitable for children aged 4 to 16 years old. There will be different classes for different age groups.
8 hours a month @£12.50ph (Usual cost £200 to £320 a month)
- Minimum £100 - 8 hours of sessions to be utilised in the first month of opening (approx 2 sessions a week) at a crazy amount of £12.50 per hour
- Lock classes at this rate for a full year £1200 (8 hours of classes a month - no roll over if hours are not utilised)
24 hours a month @£10.42ph (usual cost £600 to £960 a month!)
- Minimum £250 - 24 hours of sessions to be utilised in the first month of opening (approx 6 sessions a week)
- Lock classes at this rate for a full year £3000 (24 hours of classes a month - no roll over if hours are not utilised
Restrictions
Classes can only be utilised by one child ie hours can not be used by multiple siblings or children
Scholarships
If you wish to sponsor a child with your contribution, please select the correct contribution option. We will ensure the scholarship is offered toa child that would not be able to otherwise attend our classes due to financial hardship.
