Feis Spe help young people create and play more traditional music and keep gaelic alive in and around Badenoch and Strathspey. We run weekly music classes, our October feis week and have a February and May Feis day alongside a gaelic weekend. We have developed our junior and senior band who now regularly perform around Badenoch and Strathspey. Inspiring others to listen to and participate in traditional music.

The objects of the Feis Spe are to advance the education of the public of Badenoch and Strathspey area in the Gaelic language and the traditional music, art, drama, and crafts of the Highlands.
We are a charitable organisation run by a group of volunteers and we rely on fund-raising and donations to keep our programme running. We offer bursaries to families who are unable to meet the costs of our events or tuition so that everyone has the opportunity to be part of the Feis Spe.
A donation will allow more young people to take part in our programme.
This might be one of our weekly classes in fiddle, clarsach, guitar, whistle or gaelic song.
It might be our annual Feis week in the October school holidays which is for 5 - 18 year olds teaching a wide selection of instruments, dance and performance culminating in a performance by participants at the end of the week.
It might be either our February or May Feis days.
It might be a gaelic weekend at the highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore.
Or it might be joining one of our two bands, either the Feis Spe Junior band for those up to 14 or Monadh Ruadh our senior band who regularly provide musical entertainment at community events, gigs and ceilidhs, particularly during their summer tour where they visit venues around Badenoch and Strathspey.
Well known traditional musicians from this area such as Mhairi Hall, Ewan Robertson and Hamish Napier started playing music at Feis Spe events whilst at school and now have full-time careers in traditional music. We want the present generation of young people to have those same opportunities to learn, enjoy and play music at whatever level.
