We’re taking part in the National Emergencies Trust Local Action Fund. Donations to our project will be matched by the fund up to the value of £250 to help us overcome the effects of the pandemic.
Please note only one donation per supporter will be matched by the National Emergencies Trust Local Action Fund.
Each week Sanat Kumara and the Monks & Nuns at the Buddha Maitreya Soul Therapy Centre provide 180-200 good quality lunches along with fruit, bars and hot coffee, that are offered freely to anyone in need. This group includes the homeless, poorly sheltered, low income, those with addiction and mental health problems, and families and others with a food gap.
As winter is drawing in, Sanat is now providing warm necessities as well - sleeping bags, warm good quality coats, blankets, hats, and gloves. And anyone who would like one is given a free MP3 player with meditation music.
We intend to continue the service this winter, at a weekly cost of around £500.
