STC expeditions offer young people like me an invaluable opportunity to stand out from the crowd, an experience like no other!
My adventure is BORNEO!
A 3 week trip filled with days of volunteering, doing things like tree planting and visiting an orangutan sanctuary, taking part in the Kinabatangan project which involves helping local families repair and update buildings, as well as helping with planting seedlings to reforest areas of local land. What I'm most excited about is spending time at the village school, allowing local students a chance to practice their English with me.
An educational trip as great as this, does, however, come with a few challenges. Things like cost and being so far from home, lets be honest, can be quite scary, but i feel ready to overcome these obstacles!
Before setting up this page, I've took it upon myself ( with a lot of help from my family) to start raising money to meet the costs, Including a hard days graft selling donated items at a table top event. Next on the agenda, In June, is a fancy dress, three-legged trek up my favourite path here in Llangollen, the one and only Dinas Bran Castelle! Can't wait!
I've been so lucky to also receive heartwarming donations from loved ones!
I'm not quite there yet, with a long way to go, but with your help and generosity I might just get there.
