Faversham Monopoly

Welcome to the Faversham Monopoly Crowdfunding page.  

I'm Liz, and in 2018 I put together a bespoke version of Monopoly for my children, and it's become a solid staple of our household.

After sharing it online, I quickly realised that there was a surprising appetite for a game to be put together for Faversham!

After several false starts, not to mention a global pandemic, I teamed up with fellow board game geek and customer experience specialist, Jen, with the aim of creating a unique game that is as true to the original as possible and reflects the amazing community spirit of Faversham. 

But we can't do this alone. We need your help. What we really hope is that you see this as your opportunity to get involved and be part of something really unique and special! 

This isn't about local businesses, it's about the local people. 

This is a project for anyone who wants to get involved.

What's it's going to look like? 

The Monopoly game that we all know and recognise is a very standard format. 

In general, when creating a Monopoly board for a town, local businesses are charged a fixed fee and for that they get a square named after their business. 

The boards are then filled up with images of the businesses and of the key landmarks of the town (as shown in the Royal Windsor edition below).

A unique, community project

We aim to create a board that is a bit more unique. One that represents the real quirks and personality of Faversham. 

For example, we want to include local road names and give Faversham residents the chance to nominate their roads to be included on the board!  

We want to include well known landmarks and use local creative people to bring Faversham to life in the form of a Monopoly board!

How can you get involved?

We will be running competitions and events for Faversham residents to nominate their roads to be featured on the board and the game tokens. Follow us on social media to make sure you don't miss out on exciting updates!

We are also encouraging individuals and groups to crowdfund their contributions to the Faversham Monopoly project using the options listed here.

We hope to engage as many individuals, community groups, charities and businesses within Faversham as possible so that this really is a local game, for local people
