Spiritual Retreat Boost My Cancer Fighting Journey

Aim: I would like to spend my immediate time with my family doing a spiritual retreat in India as I fight through Stage 4 Breast Cancer.

About Me: I asked some friends to help me say a few things about me as it’s hard to write about yourself doing something like this. Here’s what they said: Selva is an incredibly talented person who has an absolute passion for sharing her skills and knowledge to support children. She has worked tirelessly in her personal and professional life to find ways to help families give their children the best possible start in life- and she absolutely loves it. She worked as a medical doctor for many years in community settings in Malaysia, where she would see hundreds of worried parents every single day, and did all she could to provide them with comfort and support. She saw firsthand the many problems faced by families and she has always been absolutely driven by using her experiences to come up with innovative ways to make things better, She’s worked in all kinds of roles and used all her influence to do everything she can to effect positive change for children, in public sector, voluntary sector and research work. Selva is the kind of person who loves her work and her life so much and her warmth, passion and enthusiasm are infectious- she keeps all those around her afloat through difficult times, as well as happy ones. She has an equally amazing family that she is nurturing and who are growing up to be incredibly bright, happy, curious souls who have always been shown by example how to follow their hearts. She’s also hilarious- I have never laughed harder than I have in her company- and an incredible cook!

Stage 4 Cancer Fighting Journey

I have been fighting the Cancer journey through spirituality for the past 5 years. I have been wanting to go to South India where the spiritual 'gurus' (mentors) that have kept me inspired, conduct spiritual retreats for families as we go through the cancer fighting journey together. 

Not-So-Positive News from Oncologists

Lately I have been receiving not so positive news medically, but I am determined that I can fight this spiritually.

I will be travelling to Tamil Nadu, India with my family for this spiritual retreat. 

Time is of an ESSENCE

I could wait and go in later but time is of an essence as my trial drug options are thinning out and I feel I need to go as soon as possible to boost my psyche and determination to keep on the fight on an incurable condition. I really need this to happen as I believe boosting my spiritual energy will help me to be there for my children. I deserve to be their mother for as long as they need me. 

Memories with my Family

3 weeks of spiritual retreat with my family would be great memories created with them, a start of many more memories waiting to be made!!!
