To provide Ugandan families in need with essential food supplies during this challenging time of COVID-19.

We will identify 7 sets of 7 families in other near-by neighborhoods with the help of the Local Chairpersons, to identify those most in need.
The global COVID-19 pandemic has created a very challenging environment for many all around the world. Here, in Entebbe, Uganda, Isaac has identified around primarily 7 families in our community who he believes are the most in need. Together we can help them. He plans to distribute food with the help of the Local Chairperson and some colleagues at University in order to provide to those families, of mainly single mothers, with the essential food supplies needed to survive during this time. I feel that this really is the least we can offer our fellow neighbors to help them get through this challenging time. If there's anything small you can spare, this would be hugely helpful. I know these times are difficult for everyone, but any amount would be gratefully welcomed.
Similarly to many places in the world, Uganda is completely locked down at the moment. Though our number of cases has kept low, the lockdown is having huge economical and social impacts and especially upon those who live on a hand-to-mouth income. A great number of Ugandans are not fortunate enough to live a comfortable life in quarantine, and are suffering. They cannot go out and work due to fear of being beaten by officials. All transport is banned, there is a curfew in place, all businesses are closed... for anyone who lives in or has visited Uganda, I am sure you can imagine the struggles some people are facing at this time.
You can help these families with as little as:
£5 - Can buy a 10kg bag of posho (a common local food made from maize-meal)
75p - Can buy a kg of beans
£1 - Can buy a kg of rice
These are the essential and preferred foods of Ugandan people which will help them survive this time with dignity and respect. As you can see the prices are really low, so we are not asking for a lot, but just whatever you feel you can afford to offer.
We would like to initially raise £47.25 to be able to provide the above for those seven families. Then, if that goes well, we can continue to raise for others that are deemed in need too.
