We are concerned families of children who are questioning their gender. We aim to help children feel safe and whole in their bodies.

My name is Suzanne. I am the mother of a teen who questioned her gender. For over a year, she thought she was a boy. I knew she was very smart and had such high hopes in life. She wanted to go to college and become a teacher. However, after she started calling herself a boy, her grades went from A’s to C’s. I could see sadness and confusion in her eyes. As she struggled with her gender, her mental health worsened. I learned she was being pressured into identifying as transgender by the other children at her high school. She just wanted to be accepted by the other students, so she started calling herself a boy. Her peers even told her to “bind” her chest - strapping it down in bandages, which can cause tissue damage and many health problems. After this, her best friend wouldn’t talk to her anymore and she began to isolate.

When I met parents in similar situations, I knew I was not alone in my concern. I sent her to therapy and she quickly stopped identifying as a boy. She continues to question her gender but is now much happier.

Within just one week of launching in late 2021, our website was visited over 35,000 times and we had more than 200 families, friends, and teachers sign up for our meetings! Now, we need your help to keep growing.

Our organization starts with the belief that every child should accept their own body and sex. No child is born in the wrong body. We aim to help parents get evidence-based facts about gender dysphoria. The transgender trend has become an epidemic and nobody should be peer pressured into harming themselves like my daughter. Rapid-onset gender dysphoria has harmed too many children to stay quiet. We hope to take action by uniting parents concerned with these issues.

We are not anti-gay nor are we affiliated with any political party, group, or religion. We simply want to get the truth out and help protect children. We are concerned mothers, fathers, family members, and friends. We love our children and want what will be best for them. We do not want them to harm themselves or live in confusion.

There are very few groups offering services for parents like us. Families United is unique because it is a completely anonymous support group and website. There is no other organization like ours in New York and we aim to bridge the Atlantic divide through shared concern for our families in London (where many of our close allies live).

This fundraiser will start with the little things. We will use it to first pay for our website and get our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status so your donations can be tax-deductible!

We are entirely volunteer-led, so following those goals, we will move to our 5 Big Action items:
1. Bringing together concerned parents in person in New York and London
2. Facilitating meetings for parents of gender confused children around the country over Zoom and in person
3. Transporting like-minded individuals to conferences, events, groups, and rallies to help protect children
4. Producing and distributing materials to schools, families, and events to educate others about gender dysphoria.
5. Hosting events for clinicians, parents, and teachers to learn from one another

It is our dream to open private offices in New York and London to host events and parent groups. We also intend to use these spaces for like-minded nonprofits to host conferences, meetings, and workshops.
