My name is Katie McKenzie, I am a registered childrens nurse in the UK.

I had my first baby in 2022 and now I am a proud mum of 2. 

My first baby, now 2.5 is in the diagnostic process for autism. Although currently delayed in speech. He absolutely loves books. He is a gestalt language processor and adores stories.

That's when I had the idea, why not write him a book that explains what autism is in a child, autism friendly way?

And then I thought, children with autism will not be the only children who need their conditions explaining. As a paediatric nurse. I have extensive experience and knowledge of a wide range of complex needs and I am using this expertise to write my books.
