Aim: We'd love your help in taking The Exterminator, an original play from students of Manchester Uni's Drama Society, to the Edinburgh Fringe!

A Tenant's life is uprooted when a Squatter boldly declares her living space as his own. The Exterminator explores colonisation, occupation and displacement through the pair's relationship in a microcosm of Britain, inviting audiences to reconsider the meaning of ownership and space.

An original play from playwright Kara Hardie inspired by her Cypriot roots and her passion for politics, The Exterminator was first performed in a sold out run at Antwerp Mansions, Manchester as part of the University of Manchester Drama Society. It has since been selected to represent the society at the Edinburgh Fringe this year. You can read the Mancunion's glowing review here: https://mancunion.com/2024/11/13/the-exterminator-review-hilariously-anarchic-and-beautifully-poignant/

We are an independent group of students who believe that no member of the cast or crew should have to pay out of their own pocket for this exciting opportunity. Please consider donating to support us in encouraging the conversation around global historical injustices.

This Crowdfunder aims to cover the cost of our venue, tech, accommodation and production. If you would like to support us but cannot give, sharing this page is a huge help!

Showing at the Paradise Green Annexe 11th-16th August 2025.
