Essex Dementia Care

RCN 1129038, Braintree

The main objectives of the charity are: - To promote the independence, health and well-being of people who have dementia through direct care and therapeutic support. - To support the families of people who have dementia with advice, information, guidance and opportunity for respite. - To promote the training and education of those who work in the direct care of people who have dementia.

Local charity, Essex Dementia Care has been supporting families and their loved ones through their dementia journey for over 15 years now.  As a small charity we rely on donations to help us to continue offering  a high quality service.

We believe that ‘’Life doesn’t Stop with dementia”, which is why our experienced practitioners provide a personalised service that enables clients to continue enjoying an active, independent lifestyle for as long as possible. We also offer support and respite  to family members supporting their loved ones on their dementia journey.

Our weekly group sessions focus on a wide variety of fun and inspiring leisure activities – such as arts and crafts, music, games, and much more – while our One-to-One service is tailored to each individual, with activities and outings built around their personal interests and skills. In the warmer months clients benefit from visiting our allotment project for getting close to nature and becoming involved in planting vegetables and fruit.

"Essex Dementia Care are wonderful support and the workshops really suit my husband as he's very social and likes being around people" Carol - Wife of client.
