Aim: Help me to raise enough funds to buy mattresses, blankets and disposable nappies for displaced families in Beirut, Lebanon
My name is Tim and I work for an amazing charity called Kids Alive International, which serves some incredibly vulnerable children worldwide, including refugees in Lebanon.
We have a base in a relatively safe area of Beirut (if there is such a thing at the moment), which we would like to use to help the many families that have fled there and who are now living in school halls or even on the streets.
The biggest need is for mattresses, nappies, blankets and underwear, so I am trying to raise funds by running the Great Eastern Half Marathon, so the team in Lebanon can get some supplies to the most needy there. Any donation, large or small will help us fund the following (including the transport costs to distribute them):
- £5 can buy a pack of nappies
- £16 can buy a blanket
- £20 can buy a mattress
