Elliott Crowe-Swords is fundraising for British Heart Foundation Charity No. 225971

£555
Hi everyone,
I entered this year's London Marathon and after my 3rd year of trying... I got in (yay).
Having got a place through the ballot, I would still love to raise a little bit of money for a charity. For me it was an easy choice - the British Heart Foundation.
On the 31st December, 2017, my Mum suddenly and unexpectedly passed away from complete heart failure. Myself and my family had literally spent Christmas with her a few days before. She was only 66 - full of life, and enjoying retirement in her new house with her 2 dogs, tortoises and parrot.
While clearing out my Mum's house, in a kitchen drawer I found a notepad that had a list of all the things she wanted to do over the next few years, things she wanted to do to her house, where she wanted to go - hopes and aspirations. It made me realise how short life can be. So, from this I wanted to make a list of my own - and one of the things I would like to achieve is the London Marathon...
Even though I lost my Mum this way, she had been a huge supporter of the BHF for many years. And having worn a pacemaker, and the support from the BHF, this gave her the opportunity to enjoy life and do the things she always wanted to do.
In 2020, my Dad, while doing his normal daily activities, suddenly passed out. After a number of tests while in hospital, resulted in him needing a pacemaker fitted. With the help of the pacemaker it has enabled my Dad to continue doing all the things he loves.
I'm proud to be part of 'Team BHF Runners' and very excited for 'Marathon Day'.
Any donations towards helping me achieve my target will be massively appreciated, and in turn supporting a charity which continually funds research to improve millions of lives.
Thank you. Elliott ❤️
