Ellie's special Day.
In May of this year Ellie was taken to Bassetlaw hospital and after 2 weeks of tests and scans, they found a tumour in her stomach and she was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) which is a rare form of soft tissue cancer. Although it is not attached to any of her organs, as the tumour grew it started to put pressure on these organs making life more difficult for Ellie.
She is currently having chemotherapy treatment at Sheffield Children’s Hospital and has recently had intensive radiotherapy treatment to help assist cure the cancer. There have been a few complications along the way, but right now the treatment appears to be making a huge impact and heading in the right direction.
At only 2 years old, it’s not easy trying to explain to Ellie what is happening or why the doctors and nurses are doing what they are doing but the strength she has shown has been unbelievable and despite going through all of this, she still remains happy and resilient and her cheeky character still shines through.
We are holding a party, disco, soft play and raffle to raise funds for the Simms family, whether it be for equipment, travel, or just to make little Ellie smile.
Let's all join together and show our support, any donation no matter how big or small is appreciated.
