Who are we?
We are a community grass roots rugby club offering children from all backgrounds the chance to get active, make friends, find a place of belonging and develop real life skills.
We have grown from having 5 children to now having 60 children registered and we continue to grow. We have a number of coaches and volunteers who work hard in their spare time to run the club, coach training sessions and organise matches.
Why are we crowdfunding?
In order to continue to grow and improve the lives of children who may not get these opportunities elsewhere, we need to continue improving our facilities and refresh our old equipment.
We keep the cost low so parents don’t need to break the bank getting their child into sport. We have ensured that rugby is accessible for all without financial burdens and rely on our community, sponsors and fundraising to do so.
we have a number of projects which we are looking to see through to completion allowing us to improve our facilities for safeguarding, first aid and also supporter facilities such as a tuck shop so we can offer parents a hot drink on those cold winter months.
How we’ll spend the money raised
We recently were able to obtain a new container that we are hoping to refurbished into an office area to help run our club. This will allow us to have a warm dry area for first aid treatment, safeguarding discussions and a safe space to support any children that might need it. We will also be able to store important documentation here to assist the day to day running of the club.
We are also looking to improve our tuck shop offering by routing electricity here and being able to offer refreshments and kit to children, supporters and family. We will also then be able to ensure both our parents and the opposition are able to have a hot drink on the cold match days.
Community impact
We are confident this will allow us to become better organised and increase our capacity and recruitment for new players and more age groups. This will ensure that we can support the local community through sport by offering the opportunity for many children to find themselves and develop life skills.
we have already helped many children from disadvantaged backgrounds to thrive and have prevented others from getting involved in criminal activity.
We work with the local police department to also ensure we can offer an outlet for some children that may have gotten a little lost in life.
How you can play your part
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
