About Us:
I hope you're having a lovely day, my name is Franklin Hart, and it is a pleasure to meet you. Thank you for taking the time to read our page. My name is not Hart by birth, but a recent decision. My daughter was born a few months ago and the minute I met her I fell in love. We decided to call her Maya Hart, and that's why our studio is named Elegant Hart.
Both my partner and I have had difficult lives, which is a topic for another day, but it is the main drive behind why we want to create something beautiful for our daughter, and for all the people that we may encounter. Depression can take a hefty toll on our minds, and in turn our bodies. It has been my experience that the antidote to depression is a journey of self-discovery, largely due the the fact that, unlike sorrow or grief, the main cause of depression is unknown to us. There are many methods to choose, there are also many treatments for the symptoms such as exercise, meditation or medication, however, my personal choice is art therapy because it is something anyone can do, and it can tackle the roots of the disease.
I used to love creating art, but it had been long time up until I met my partner that I could find the motivation to do anything. She has rekindled a passion in me, and ever since we have been trying to launch our own business. We have built up many ideas and plans over the past year. We tried to start 5 months ago, but work dropped off for me, and life has been difficult. Nonetheless, we managed to set aside enough to purchase a computer, some video editing software and we kickstarted 2 days ago.
Our business:
We're in our early stages, just a handful of simple videos and preliminary artworks. In terms of artworks I have recently been working on drawings, because it is part of the reward I want to offer. I mainly wish to focus on acrylic as a medium, and my partner works with calligraphy and watercolours. We have many designs in mind for our Etsy store, but still lacking most of the materials. We had to start from scratch in January, I have managed to get some pencils, a few brushes and some small art pads
On the video side of things, I have started making simple relaxing videos with a series in mind for people who struggle to sleep or having babies that have a hard time sleeping. I have a set of relaxing sounds in the works, relaxing music and once I get a hold of a good quality microphone I will work on soft spoken ASMR and story telling as well. Afterwards, I plan to start work on the multiple series I had in mind for many years now. I want to make educational content like audio books, and entertainment such as poetry, and inspirational content. Most of this is a not-for-profit attempt to make a little corner where people can come to relax.
Once our store is up and running, we will set up social media accounts to document our journey, and start making art videos on the side as a sort of free art therapy session for all. We are quite far away from being able to run a little studio, but for now I just wanted to let you know that we will have many interesting art ideas in the works. That sums up in brief what we have in mind, thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little bit better.
Rewards:
We're not really looking for any charity, there are many people that deserve it more than we do. Instead we would like to see if anyone would be interested in sponsoring or investing in our endeavour.
As of this moment we don't have a lot to offer our supporters, once our website is up and running I will make a special page, and on our YouTube channel. For the moment while we are small we would love to send people a personal handwritten thank you letters. Those who wish to invest more into our business, for the time that you free up, I would be happy to offer a realistic or abstract drawing of any photo you wish. On top of that we will of course include anyone who wishes to give us a kickstart access to any incentives we may have further down the line.
If you have any questions please feel free to email us at [email protected] I will attach 3 drawings I am working on at the moment. they're not finished yet, because they're just practice pieces, but I hope it gives you an idea of how much we love what we do.
