We have the opportunity on July the 4th to elect Draeyk Van Der Horn, a Scottish Green MP for Moray West, Nairn and Strathspey. FIND OUT MORE HERE

Draeyk is Moray's first green councillor, elected in 2022. With a record that includes motions supporting Climate and Ecology Bill - a first in Scotland, declaring a Nature Emergency, winter warm banks, ban on disposable vapes, supporting Moray’s first Pride. As well as pursuing a ban on Hikvision CCTV, provide EV charging over footpaths, petitions for under 18’s, corporate commitment to climate and nature. Secured a reduction and phase out of glyphosate and cash to help access the £500 million Just Transition Fund.

Draeyk has been a chef and farmer, developed local food networks and constantly worked in service to communities both in the UK and overseas. Apart from setting up a new gallery and crafters space, Draeyk is also a registered celebrant, writer and director of a local business.

Crucial and central to all is the wellbeing and experience of immersion into nature, so weekly hikes in the Cairngorms, running in the dunes, swimming, cycling  and working in forest garden are vital parts of any routine.

We are all part of nature, we can learn from its wisdom and by electing Draeyk as a Scottish Green MP would be a decisive indication that the public want a radical alternative to more-of-the-same politics.  People and planet really do matter, that together we will stand up and do what it takes to transform the UK into a society that embraces a greener, fairer future. One where social justice, economic justice and environmental justice sit side by side.

By working together we can deliver on:

● Massively increase investment in the transition to renewable energy, creating tens of thousands of lasting high quality jobs and reducing household energy bills

● Fund that huge investment programme with a wealth tax

● No new licences for oil & gas fields

● No new nuclear power stations

● Raise the National Minimum Wage to at least the Real Living Wage to end the scandal of poverty pay and end age based discrimination in minimum wage laws, repeal the anti-trade union laws and ban zero-hours contracts

● Secure Scotland’s future as an independent nation and full EU member state

● Secure a better deal for Scotland through the Barnett formula, where the Scottish Government receives a population based proportion of UK Government spending. So we have more money to improve health, education, public transport, housing and better integrated transport networks.

You can count on me to be in action. To act like our future depended on it.

● To campaign for a 4 day week

● To secure a Universal Basic Income

● To be a voice for those without a voice, to defend our wild lands, our food, our water, our home - this planet.

You can also count on me to speak up. To be a stand for West Moray, Nairn and Strathspey.

● For a wellbeing economy that means excellent health, education and prospects.

● For the rural voice, from farm to sea. To speak up for our growers, our national park, our rivers, forests and coastlines.

● For our community and our connected lives, a vision that nurtures us for all we are capable of and celebrates our creativity and potential.
