Eco Centre Warmer Winter Fundraising

Aim: We need urgent support to cover rising energy and building costs for running our community eco centre and volunteer programme. Can you help?
Who We Are
The Globe Foundation is a nonprofit CIC established to drive grassroots community activity to combat climate change and better the local area for people, place and planet.
What We Do
To achieve this mission we run an eco centre, the best way to describe our centre is an eco-themed community centre. The centre allows us to run a volunteer programme for local citizens to engage in a range of activities, learning new skills, building confidence, improving their social connections and enabling them to give back to their community. All of our volunteer activity also benefits the local community who use our services to help them live healthier and more sustainable lifestyles. We have a range of activities at the eco centre that include our Repair Room, our Precious Plastics Craft Workshop, our Community Recycling Hub, our Community Forest Garden and a small community zero waste shop. We also run our litter pick lending library for community members to borrow litter pick equipment and we organise town-wide litter picks as part of the Great British Spring Clean.
What We Need
Like a lot of community venues, we have reasonable running costs associated with keeping a community space open and we are seeing a lot of those costs rising significantly. We do not receive any funding outside of public donations and grants and the little income we can generate from our on site shop, which has dropped due to the cost of living crisis.
In March, our energy bills will be three times the cost of our rent, just to keep our doors open! We're hoping to install energy efficiency measures and solar panels and will be doing a lot of work to revitalise the sustainability of running a centre like this within this new economical landscape. We have the opportunity of a grant to help make the improvements but need to raise £5k in match funding to be awarded the grant - we need your help! Can you donate to help us provide a warmer space for our volunteers and community members?
