Anees’ illness can be life-threatening. If left untreated, it can obstruct his airway, cause difficulty in breathing and swallowing, and even lead to cancer.

Ease Muhammad Anees’s Pain With Thyroidectomy

Muhammad Anees, a 19-year-old resident of Lahore, has been experiencing a painful neck lump for many years. Born with Pendred syndrome, a genetic disorder that causes hearing loss and affects the thyroid, Anees’s life has been a constant struggle against his condition. However, in recent years, the syndrome has given him extreme discomfort and a feeling of pressure in his neck. He consulted a doctor about his condition. The doctor conducted some diagnostic tests and an ultrasound scan and diagnosed Anees with a large multinodular goiter - a swelling in his neck caused by an enlarged thyroid gland. The doctor recommended a near-total thyroidectomy to treat the disease. However, Anees’s family cannot afford the cost of the surgery.

Anees’ illness can be life-threatening. If left untreated, it can obstruct his airway, cause difficulty in breathing and swallowing, and even lead to cancer. The goiter has grown to the point where it affects Anees’s daily life. His voice is strained, and he often struggles to catch his breath. Simple tasks, like eating or speaking, have become painful and exhausting.

Anees lives in a three-room rented house with his thirteen family members. His father and brothers are daily wage laborers. With their meager monthly income, they hardly manage the household expenses.  The surgical cost is an additional financial strain for the family who barely makes ends meet. After struggling for a while, Anees’s family found Transparent Hands and asked for help.

Anees’s family said in despair:

“We’ve done everything we can to support Anees, but we’re running out of options. Every day is a struggle for Anees and he desperately needs the surgery. Kindly help our son in finding relief from his pain.”

Without thyroidectomy surgery, Anees’s condition will continue to deteriorate. The goiter will keep growing, compromising his quality of life and risking his future. This surgery is crucial not only for his physical health but also for his ability to continue his education and pursue his dreams.

We urgently appeal to you to help Anees in undergoing this life-changing surgery. Your support can make a world of difference in Anees’s life. Please donate today and give Anees the chance to breathe, speak, and study without pain.
