We're still collecting donations

On the 8th July 2021 we'd raised £1,460 with 55 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Who are we

Yolly Flower Shop is a tiny, beautiful flower and plant shop in SE23. Yolly works voluntarily each year, putting on a collaborative project within the community as a free installation for all the public to enjoy.

Aim

The purpose of this year's project is to bring hope and wellbeing to the younger generation, as well as vulnerable adults. Each student, user, child, will have the opportunity to produce a prayer flag or spirit flag, which is a piece of linen fabric dyed with natural materials, both vegetable and floral. The pieces will be hung en masse. The project's aim is to provide joy, hope and fun, whilst also raising awareness of the importance of being sustainable and how we can use floral nd vegetable waste in a creative, positive way.

This year, I am collaborating with Forest Hill School, an all-boys secondary school, Horniman Primary School and Sydenham Garden, a charity based in south east London, that provides adult users with a well being service, through the use of gardening workshops.

We provide  the opportunity to work on an installation that will be open to the public in July at RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival.

The pieces of linen fabric will be hung collectively,  bringing a sense of magic, uplifting all of those who come to see the installation, especially for those involved in its creation.

Art plays a crucial role in positively contributing to wellbeing and mental health and so your financial support will cover costs; purchasing linen, the materials for dyeing, to pay for a skilled tradesman to install onsite, to ensure  the schools and Charity do not to incur any costs. I am very passionate about the importance of art for all  and it's accessibility for all, and that it should be free for all children.

It's such lovely project and I am so excited to begin this, I really would appreciate any donations at all to help cover these costs.  I invest my time and the resources of my flower shop for free. Thanks so much for your time!
