Who are we?
Dungannon Youth for Christ exists to help young people find a personal relationship with Jesus while reaching their full potential physically, emotionally and spiritually. We believe in providing relational youth work by giving opportunities for young people ages 11-18 to connect and grow together through the running of our programs and by working with our local schools and churches.
What do we do?
Dungannon Youth for Christ provides an After schools program for young people on a Monday and Wednesday afternoon in their youth centre. This is an opportunity for young people to relax, have some fun and most importantly, talk to someone about their day. They are welcome to come and do their homework and/or spend time relaxing with their friends with crafts, baking, video consoles and board games.
We take many of our local school assemblies- both primary and secondary. This is a great opportunity for young people to make a new connection with Dungannon Youth for Christ and see our passion for sharing Jesus love.
We also help out at our local schools Scripture Unions to encourage young Christians to share God's love in their school. In our primary schools, we run a Transition program called 'Move on up' for our P7's moving into high school, to help them understand what kind of things to expect when moving into high school and where they can always find help at Youth for Christ and in school.
We work alongside Reach Mentoring to help mentor 17 young people in St Josephs Grammar Donaghmore every week. This is an amazing opportunity to encourage young people who are struggling at home and/or in school.
During the summer, we hold our weekly Drop In for young people to have somewhere safe to come in the summer month, to learn from each other and to have a good time! Our drop in is free of charge and accessible to all young people aged 11-18.
We look forward to starting new initiatives and programs in September to further encourage the young people in Dungannon and to help them grow physically, emotionally and spiritually.
