Dundonald High School MLD Unit - Sensory Room

The vision for the MLD (moderate learning difficulties) Unit at Dundonald High School is to raise enough funds to create a sensory room for our most vulnerable pupils. Many of our pupils struggle with emotional regulation, sensory overload and severe anxiety on a daily basis. We are mindful that the pandemic will have had a negative impact on many of our young people. For some the transition back to school will prove to be more difficult than before. With your help we hope to provide a room that will have a variety of equipment that will give much needed additional support. An area that will use calming sounds, various lighting, bubble tubes, soft flooring, weighted chair/blankets, calming visuals, aromatic scents, individual sensory equipment and an overall quiet, calm and peaceful area that will give our pupils the tools to assist their individual needs.
